Went to work last night. Nothing to exciting, but it was the busiest night at Applebee's that I've seen since I've been down there. It was normal until about 11pm when TWO football teams waltzed in to have dinner. Both Heritage HS and LCA from Lynchburg both came in roughly at the same time. There were just so many people it was impossible to keep track of everything. Luckily, last night I was a busboy, so I didn't have to deal with to much of it. All I had to do was go around and pick up the dishes left on the tables. Who I really felt bad for was the other host, who was stuck up at the door writing down names for the "wait list". She would be writing down names and people would be looking over her sholder, trying to see where their name was on the list, to see how much longer they had to wait. At one point, when I walked by, a group of three or four older guys actually had the wait list in their hands, checking it out! It didn't die down until about 12:15am. Coach Tolsma, the Liberty cross country coach even came in last night for dinner. It's the first time I've seen him there, and I thought it was funny because he ended up getting my brother Bobby's table and he had to wait on him. Bobby stopped running for the team when he was a junior. Well, Coach Tolsma must not have forgotten, because he only left a $2.00 tip! One funny thing that did happen last night though, was when I was walking by one of the doors to the kitchen, the door your supposed to go in, Bobby came flying out carrying a plate of lemons. Needless to say, we crashed into one another and the lemons went flying up into the air! Bobby just kind of stood there looking at the lemons on the ground as if they were going to re-arrange themselves onto the plate.
This morning I went running and had one of the best workouts I've done in probably forever. I did 600m repeats, 10 of them, and did them faster then I've ever done them. I feel like I've hit a new level of running because, even though I've upped my mileage to 75 mpw, I feel better then ever and all of my workouts are faster then ever. I did 1200m repeats on Thursday and they were the fastest I've run too. I can't wait until my next race to test out my legs and see how much faster I've gotten. It might just be because I dropped my long run from the 18 miles that it was earlier to an easier 15 miles every week. It might also be because I've lost weight. I'm not sure how much, but I know I've lost a bunch. There's no scale that you can get an accurate reading on down here, so I have no idea how much I weigh right now, but it's definently less then when I got here in August. So much for the freshmen 15!
